Crown Reduction

Crown reduction is a pruning technique used to reduce the overall height and spread of the crown (foliage bearing area) of a tree.  This is carried out using chain saws and/or pruning saws.  The usual amount removed is 30 per cent.  This amount will then allow the tree to recover and put on fresh growth.
